IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Code of Ethics 

CanGift requires that its members and exhibitors adhere to this Code of Ethics, adopted by the CanGift Board of Directors. As a CanGift member, you agree to observe the highest standards of honesty, integrity and responsibility at the CanGift Markets, by:

  • Ensuring your conduct and that of your staff, agents or persons under your control, do not reflect negatively on the Association and/or its members.
  • Respecting the rights and privileges of all parties associated with CanGift in a manner consistent with this Code and striving to enhance the image, reputation and standing of the Association and/or its members and exhibitors.
  • Adhering to the Market’s rules and regulations as outlined in the Exhibitor Manual including effective show security and all health & safety procedures.
  • Refraining from entering another exhibitor’s booth, handling a product or taking a photo at any time, without express permission from the other exhibitor.
  • Any form of theft is a criminal offence and will be handled in the same manner as it would outside the show floor. Authorities may be contacted as warranted.
  • Being considerate of neighbouring exhibitors and ensuring that your exhibit does not interfere with their ability to conduct business.
  • All dealings with CanGift staff and all stakeholders will be conducted at all times in a professional, respectful and courteous manner.

Members who do not adhere to these standards may subject themselves to discipline, including without limitation, suspension or termination of membership and/or loss of booth space, at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.

Please note: Exhibitors are not permitted to enter another exhibitor’s booth, handle any products, or take any photos without the express permission of that exhibitor.

Fire Regulations 

All booth materials must be non-flammable or properly flame-proofed, with foam core and other hazardous items strictly prohibited.
Exhibitors must follow fire safety regulations, keep exits and equipment clear, and ensure all displays and equipment meet approved safety standards.

Acceptable Product Criteria

To become and remain a CanGift member, companies must supply goods at the wholesale level and meet the product standards set by the CanGift Board.
Guidelines outline which products are acceptable for membership and event display.

Booth Display Standards

Exhibitors must use safe, compliant booth structures, keep spaces accessible, and follow all venue and fire regulations.

  1. All exhibitors must supply and install prefabricated booth structures that have self-supporting walls a. and/or fire-retardant taut drape* exactly 8 feet high extending the full width and depth of the booth, except where an open corner exists.
  2. All booths must leave a minimum of 50% of exposed sides open for access from aisles.
  3. Booth walls/drapes must be neatly finished on all exposed sides.
  4. Exhibit structures must be constructed to allow sufficient space for utility service at the rear/sides of the booth (4-6 inches should be sufficient).
  5. You may choose to install and dismantle your booth yourself, use an exhibit decorator of your choice or use the official show decorator Freeman. Discounted booth packages can be ordered from Freeman, which will be available soon.
  6. For the Fall 2025 Market floor coverings (e.g. tile, carpet broadloom etc.) are not mandatory*. If you are using a floor covering, it should completely cover the booth’s floor space.
  7. No covered booths are permitted due to fire regulations.
  8. No straw or hay is allowed due to fire regulations.

IMPORTANT NOTE The Toronto Congress Centre is an independently owned facility; any damage to walls, ceilings and floors (i.e.: incorrect floor tape) will be billed directly back to the exhibitor.

Product and Display Regulations

All products, displays, and activities must remain within your assigned booth space while maintaining safety, accessibility, and minimal disruption to surrounding exhibitors.

  1. Products and displays, as well as staff conducting sales, sampling and/or demonstrations must stay within the confines of their contracted booth at all times. No part of the exhibit or any product may extend into the aisle and no booth personnel may be stationed in the aisle, even temporarily, conducting business of any kind.
  2. Where a pillar or other obstruction occurs in (or just outside) a booth, it may be covered in accordance with height regulations providing it does not interfere with access to hydro, telephone wire, aisle carpeting.
  3. Should you have a pillar with a fire extinguisher attached you must remove the fire extinguisher and place it in a visible area within your booth.
  4. Exhibitors must regulate sound levels from demonstrations within their booth to ensure noise is kept to a minimum.
Booth Signage and Sign Hanging Regulations

Exhibitors must display a clear, prominent sign with their registered CanGift company name. All signage must follow height, visibility, and safety regulations.

  1. All exhibits must have a sign with the registered Canadian Gift Association Member/Exhibitor Company Name and must be the largest of all signs within the booth, readily visible and displayed in a prominent location. All other signage displayed (i.e.: other company names under the “parent” CanGift member, or that the CanGift member distributes etc.) must be less prominent than the CanGift member exhibiting company sign. Additionally, these items must be hung by Showtech Power & Lighting in accordance with the show height restrictions – the bottom of the sign cannot be any lower than 12 feet from the ground with the exception of regular in-line and corner booths which is 8 feet.   2. Signs/banners must meet all fire safety standards and comply with the Toronto Gift + Home Market rules and regulations regarding use of acceptable materials.

The Toronto Gift + Home Market, its management, and the building owners/management, however, cannot assume any responsibility for losses incurred from pilferage or any other causes.

Cleaning

Show Management provides janitorial service for aisles only. Building cleaning staff will not enter any exhibit for the purpose of sweeping or dusting.

Appearance, impression, and cleanliness are essential when buyers visit your booth. The following cleaning services are available to ensure your space looks its best:

  • Vacuuming carpet and/or mopping hard surface floors
  • Dusting all shelving, desks, or displays
  • Garbage removal
  • Carpet stain removal as needed
  • Steaming

PLEASE NOTE: Exhibitors must use proper floor adhesive on booth installation
to avoid excessive cleaning charges for removal.
